He has obtained a Master of Laws from the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, United Kingdom and a Doctorate in Business Administration also from the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Dr Nurse was awarded this qualification for his pioneering research in the effectiveness of Project Planning and Management applied by public sector organizations in Trinidad and Tobago.
He is a senior lecturer at the MBA programme of the Anglia Ruskin University in Business. Management. He specializes in strategic planning, project leadership, organisational development, corporate governance, and change management Dr Nurse brings over 30 years- experience working in both the public and private sectors and is currently the Chairman and Director on several Boards in Trinidad and Tobago.

He previously served as Chairman of the San Juan/Barataria Network of Churches and a member of the Barataria Police Station Council.
